The Flash is one of the key characters in the DC comics universe. This superhero name was borne by several characters, all of them distinguished by one superhuman ability - speed not only exceeding human speed, but also violating the laws of physics. Of the four characters in the DC universe who bear this name, the most popular was the Flash of the "silver age" of comics - Barry Allen. It was he who became the main character of the series of the same name, which started in 2014.
The story of the Flash series universe based on DC comics began before the events of the first episodes of the first season. For the first time, the hero appears in the series Arrow, not yet being a superhero. He helps Oliver Queen as a good forensic scientist and adventurer, pursuing his own goal - to find out who is behind the death of his mother. In the series Arrow, you can also see the beginning of the formation of Barry Allen as a superhero.
Being a spin-off of the Arrow, the Flash series, barely appearing on the screens, overtook the original source in popularity. The charismatic main character, played by Grant Gustin (previously known for his role in the TV series "Glee"), attracted an additional audience to the series and, after two pilot episodes, a full season was filmed and released.
The concept of the series is as follows: as a child, Barry dreamed of being a superhero, imagined how he would help people. But his first encounter with a person with superpowers changed the eleven-year-old boy's idea of what metahumans are. One of them killed Barry's mother right in front of him, and accused the boy's father of the crime.
